The OLRDS was formed and registered vide Order No. 21074/213 dt. 25.10.2000, with the Aim & Objectives to boost up rural economy and reduce the rising trend of unemployment situation. Government of India have decided to launch a Project, namely “National Project for Cattle & Buffalo Breeding” (NPCBB) in the State of Orissa during the 9th Five Year Plan period, basing on the instruction of Govt. of India to form a State Implementing Agency, so as to ensure timely and meaningful implementation of the Project, State Govt. have been pleased to form a Society, namely “Orissa Livestock Resources Development Society” (OLRDS)  is registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860.
